this is part three of the series of pride american flag paintings. it has been 43 years since the voting rights act of 1965 which was
put in place to make attempts (voting taxes, literacy tests, etc) to keep blacks from voting illegal. 40 plus years later we finally have
a black man who not only is making great strides to be the democratic candidate in this year's election, but has a great chance of
actually becoming president. i am not promoting the democratic party, i'm just saying that it has taken 40 years to get from fighting
for a right to vote to having a good chance of becoming president of the united states. i know some people might think 40 years
doesn't seem that long, but i haven't even been alive 40 years yet. so for me it is a lifetime.i am forever saddened by the hate and
ignorance of people. this election is a milestone for our country in many ways. we have two minorities running who were at one
time in history not even allowed to vote. i do believe there will come a day when an openly gay candidate will not only run for the
presidency but also have a good chance to win.i just hope i get to see it in my lifetime.
in order to form a more perfect union
